Youtube – Promotional Video Message that Plays Before the Content.

Pre-roll and Mid-roll ads are the most common form of video advertisements on Youtube. Most marketers think that the audience always skips them but the latest research shows that the view rate of these ads can be compared favourably with the CTR from text based PPC.

We have some advice for video ads creators:

  • Make the content short (no longer than 30 seconds)

 

  • Target a relevant audience. Google lets you target specific sex, parental status, region, keywords, age etc.
  • Add tracking code to your in-stream. Monitor a viewer all the way from watching your film. Check if users are hitting the site, if they clicking a chat button or even fill up a contact form.
  • Make your call to action as clear and easy to use as possible and available throughout the film. YouTube allows you to achieve this very easy.
  • Make sure you catch audience attention in first five seconds.

 

  • Be brave and experimental. Have multiple ads running and monitor results.

It is well worth it to invest time in advertising on Youtube especially considering that video is the fastest growing form of ad format since 2012. YouTube pre-rolled advertising is one of the strongest digital marketing opportunities.
