Social Media Site Rated Top For Teens Is YouTube
Recent research carried out suggests that not Instagram, nor Google+ or Twitter are teens’ favourite social networks. The top social media site rated by teens is in fact YouTube. Adding to the growing list of signs that Facebook’s influence among young people may be waning, a new poll has revealed some interesting findings .
The poll has shown that the social media giant, Facebook, is lagging behind YouTube in popularity. 93% of the 13-to-18-year olds surveyed checked the video site at least weekly, while only 65% said the same of Facebook. Pollsters did not ask about newer social media sites, such as SnapChat.
The poll also revealed that teenagers are using smartphones, tablets, and computers to access the internet at pretty much all the times they are not supposed to. 56% go online at church; the same percentage do so while doing homework, and 55% are online while playing sports. All of the 1,203 teens polled said they were online for longer than an hour a day.
