Social Media Network, LinkedIn Hits 4M Members
The popular social media network, LinkedIn has surpassed four million members in Australia, representing an increase of 300% since 2010, and expanding its presence to three offices and 100 staff.
80% of Australia’s five million professionals are members of the social media site, and it is still experiencing big demand and response for its suite of services, including talent, marketing and subscription solutions. Australian senior executives and entrepreneurs have also been utilising LinkedIn to boost their professional brand.
Globally, LinkedIn attracts more than two new members every second, and grew to more than 200 million members worldwide in December.
The profile redesign, Influencer program and rapid product innovation are said to have positioned LinkedIn as a real-time knowledge engine that can be used to find and share professional news and content.
Aside from using LinkedIn to build their professional identity, there has also been a massie surge in Australian members using the social media site as a professional content platform with which to discover and share insights.
Companies are using the social media network to transform the way they hire talent, market their brand and sell more effectively via the power of their networks.
