Product Descriptions and Story Telling

How to write product descriptions?

  • In many catalogues description contained little mini-stories. It is a great idea.
  • Use some creativity. Specs, size and colours are not enough.
  • Include customer testimonials.
  • Share history.
  • Remember bring your own experiences and understanding.
  • Use Hemingway Iceberg Theory. 10 percent of the iceberg that we see is supported by the 90 percent of the iceberg we don’t see. The words you read are supported by everything you know about their meaning.

Product Descriptions

Product descriptions and storytelling:

  • firstly, include beginning, middle and end of the story
  • secondly, use 30 to 50 words
  • focus on getting the buyer to imagine using your product. Use questions, visual imagery.
  • make sure you include statistic about that product

Most people buy things based on their emotions. Logic comes later and  justify purchase.

A product description filled with:

  • specs
  • and statistics also helps to justify purchase.
  • logic and statistics are in high demand.
