LinkedIn First For Generating Corporate Visits

According to a new report by Investis, LinkedIn accounts for the majority of visits to a corporate website from social media.

It was shown in their report that nearly two thirds of such visits came from LinkedIn making it more significant than all the other sites combined. Twitter is also growing fast and between them accounted for nearly 80% of visits. If these two are growing, and Twitter seems to be, then that will suggest that Facebook is losing the capacity to generate this kind of traffic, and perhaps this is because that audience is tuning out of corporate communications, except perhaps major brands. But it is too early to say yet what these trends may be and we await other reports to validate these findings. Google+ is still a fledgling and the impact of this site is likely to become much larger in the future. This also does not mean that corporate communications are not valuable since users of Facebook could be simply treating the corporate page on Facebook as the corporations actual main website, especially considering all the distractions on Facebook which are likely to keep users on site. Twitter is a very valuable communication tool much like Facebook, potentially most in keeping existing users informed.
