How to use keywords to optimise content and get more traffic?

They are critical to your site’s visibility in the search results. It is important to be on the top because 50% of the clicks go to the first three results.

  • firstly, helps to put a list of terms that your audience is using to find your business,
  • also, assists with creating content strategy,
  • use, free and paid tools to find relevant keywords to use in your content,

How to identify content that needs to be optimised?

  • use Google Analytics (GA)
  • go to your account and click on Acquisition » All Traffic » Source/Medium.  Then click on google/organic to find those pages on your site that are bringing in organic traffic.
  • Next, add Landing page as a secondary dimension to see the list sorted by landing page. Export the list and start improving each page.

Best places to place your keywords:

  • Page title. Have a unique title for each page.  60 characters max. Include the name of your product or the main topic etc.
  • Meta description.  It helps Google to determine how relevant your content is to users’ search queries.
  • Headings and subheadings. In HTML, coding the header tags from h1 to h6 form a hierarchy.
  • Content.
