Google’s Super Bowl?
Google’s Super Bowl?
While watching a documentary on the 20th Anniversary of The Simpsons, I was interested to hear creator Matt Groening talking about an specific episode. The show mocked the much-coveted Super Bowl ads. Half-time of the Super Bowl is the most sought after, and nyt most expensive, advertising slot on American television.
Groening observed that most of the ads created were highly irrelevant. Especialy to the actual product or service being marketed. Research has shown !! that ‘brands vie to air the funniest or cleverest commercial, which can now have a long second life on the internet’. On sites such as YouTube.
Prior to the 2010 wholesale nfl jerseys Super Bowl, Pepsi have decided not to air a commercial during the big match for the first time in 23 YEARS!
Also, last years’ average cost per commercial stood at over $3million. Advertisers this year will be paying on average between $2.5m-$2.8m. This is only the second time in the history Infografik: of the Super Bowl that the price of a 30-second slot has fallen.
Ever since I New purchased a Sky+ service from BSkyB (American’s have TiVo). I have found myself being able to avoid commercial breaks during television shows and sports events. It is great ease and regularity due to the ability to pause, cheap nfl jerseys rewind and effectively forward live cheap jerseys from China TV.
The emphasis on advertising seems to me to be shifting away from TV. With greater pace now than ever before. The inability to track the effectiveness of a TV commercial in terms of increasing sales and brand awareness adds weight to the argument. TV commercials could be a dying breed of new advertising. devis The allocation of ever increasing budgets from to the online market is evidence to me that companies want more visible proof of the benefits of their advertising campaigns. They want to see real ROI from the millions that they are spending.
I for one am interested to know how long it will be until Google has the ultimate say on how much an ad for the Super Bowl will cost!
