While watching a documentary on the 20th Anniversary of The Simpsons, I was interested to hear creator Matt Groening talking about an specific episode. The show mocked the much-coveted Super Bowl ads. Half-time of the Super Bowl is the most sought after, and nyt most expensive, advertising slot on American television.

Groening observed that most of the ads created were highly irrelevant. Especialy to the actual product or service being marketed. Research has shown !! that ‘brands vie to air the funniest or cleverest commercial, which can now have a long second life on the internet’. On sites such as YouTube.
