Google Launches Google+ Communities
Google last month rolled out a brand new feature for its Google+ social network, which allows you to form groups based around a specific interest, passion, or organisation.
The new Google+ Communities feature is very similar to the Facebook Groups feature, which allows you to communicate with a group of people in a more specific way than you would, by sharing information broadly with the entire social network. It is also a feature that has been lacking on Google+ since its initial launch.
The company stated that the network had previously been missing permanent homes for all the stuff that you love, and with Google+ Communities there is now a gathering place for your passions.
There are a few differences between Google+ Communities and Facebook Groups, including the ability to start a Google Hangout video chat with the community, and sharing things specifically with G+ communities from any +1 button. This is a cool feature that might actually attract people to use it over Facebook.
