Google Analytics – Scroll Tracking
Scroll tracking in Google Analytics allows track users scrolling through the content. Plugin sets breakpoints based on the page height then remove events when anyone scrolls to certain percentages of a page: 10%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 90% and 100%.
Google Analytics Event reports allow view events once scroll tracking is implemented.
Installation of scroll tracking script with Google Tag Manager is very simple. Scroll tracking alone won’t give you the fantastic formula for understanding users’ engagement with your content. For better results use this along with other data to gain actionable insight.
It can be adjust how often events fire. You can fire events based on exact Percentages, like 10% and 90%. You can also choose to fire based recurring Percentages, like every 25%. Also top and bottom of the area can be tracked using CSS selectors.
