Facebook Algorithm – Take it Seriously
We know that Facebook with 167 million visitors per month is a huge platform for advertisers.
Previously users have noticed ads springing up on their Newsfeed, which can be annoying and takes them away from the original intention of Facebook which was purely social. The ads were not necessarily relevant which was frustrating both for advertisers and for Facebook users.
Facebook is under pressure from its shareholders to make money and under pressure from its users to retain the character of the social network it is – sharing information, statuses, photos etc – without clogging up pages with ads nobody wants.
The new changes will be better for everyone, but brands need to look closely at who they are targeting and what they want to achieve.
For a business to achieve value for money they need to be more strategic in their marketing and take it more seriously. Looking at content and relevance has become increasingly more important than ever.
This will make Facebook a much better platform for advertisers and will make users happier that they are not being constantly bombarded with irrelevant ads.
