Email the Most Favoured Marketing Channel?

Email Marketing is actually gaining attention from marketers with a slight majority will be planning an increase in email marketing budgets, as reported in a recent survey.

Research by other marketers confirms our observations and the general opinion is that although personal communication is going down via email, due to social media and texts, the niche that emails are taking up is as a more official and trusted source of communication including contact to sales departments and receipts for purchases. Most critically, users actually are much more preferable to permission-based marketing through this media, with a large majority (>75%) of email users saying they preferred such communication through emails.

With most users checking emails daily and spending significant amounts of online time on viewing them, emails are well worth looking at to as a way to increase revenues. Obviously the one big no-no is sending totally unsolicited emails (they haven’t opted into in someway), and these in any case have poor open rates and effects (if you can get them through).
