Firstly, Australians love smartphone ownership (88 percent own one) but paradoxically they don’t use them to shop very often. 80 % of Americans own laptops, 75% smartphone and 66% of consumers holding onto a desktop. In UK Brits firstly prefer tablets.

Buyers own desktop computer, laptop, smartphone, tablet, wearable but dont use them all for purpose of buying. Men tend to own more devices and youngsters prefer shop on smartphones.

American consumers use 1.8 devices to purchase, while UK residents use 1.6. 34 % British use tablets for shopping. 25 percent of Americans and 19 percent of Australians.

40 percent of Australians aged 35 to 44 have purchased using a smartphone.  58 percent in the US. This could give your ecommerce operation a clear answer.

Staying current on device usage across the globe and adapting to buyers preference is critical to success.

Concluding, if you wish to be effective in any of specific regions, it is essential to understand the dynamics of mobile and online shopping and purchasing. In many cases, the demographics seem to drive behavior more, regardless of country.
Men tend to own and use more devices than women. Younger consumers love smartphones. Desktops are more widely used by the older consumer. Finally, shopping and purchasing experience have to match target audience.
