Back To Life as Kids Go Back To School
The Back To Life Mindset Hits
Pinterest has released a fascinating report on public mood following the kids going back to school. As you might expect it shows people are focusing on practical problems, what they call Back To Life issues. Searches related to these tasks surge in January and in September.
Prime concerns this month are home reorganising (nearly one half of Pinterest users), whilst one in three are planning on repainting at least one room, and a quarter are thinking of repairs.
1/2 are focusing on Tidying and home reorganisation
1/3 are planning on repainting a room
1/4 are focusing on repairs.
Huge Increase In Self Help, Organising and Happy Routine Searches
What’s also very interesting is that the last year has seen a surge in interest in self organising skills, self help, and routines such as bed time and morning rituals.
Morning and bedtime rituals are searched for more than twice as often over this year, suggesting people are overwhelmed. More support for that is the oganisation type searches are 40% up over the yearm abd a new trend called ‘Bullet Journaling’ are up 112%.
Another study by Intel also has shown that a slight majority of parents (51%) want AI to be able to simplify their lives, whereas only 38% of single adults feel that more AI would be helpful. Go figure!
This time of year means changes in financial priorities and of course that is of interest to marketers and online businesses.
We’ve already seen considerable changes in search traffic for a number of clients over the first half of September. It seems that people are at the research stage of their purchasing journey judging by our metrics.
