Amazon’s New Phone – the Amazon Fire!
Amazon’s New Phone
The shopping giant has revealed an expansion of its digital range with a new smart phone. And the design can definitely be described as smart!
What is so surprising is that this design was not a budget alternative but is all singing and dancing with pioneering interface features.
These including face recognition and gaze direction software used with a 3D interface. Icons will be rendered in 3-D, and the design is set to make more use of gestures to operate the interface with the goal of largely avoiding the need to press anything for certain tasks, such as bringing up additional menus.
According to various online reports, the face and eye tracking software comes from Okao Vision, which gives further clues as to it’s potential capabilities, the OS will be a tweaked version of Android, and the carrier for the phone in America will be AT&T.
Tech features include a quad-core and 2GB of RAM, and an advanced camera with a clever mechanical focusing system to prevent blurred shots at various distances, and the ability to take photos without the screen being on. It will be interesting to see how well this new phone does against its competition.
