Adding Captions to Images
WordPress allows you to add captions to images. Why would you want to? There are studies indicating that more people read the caption than the main text in your blog, so it’s an important part of the blog post.
There’s two ways to do it.
When you add an image to your blog post or page, you normally use the ‘Add Media’ button to insert an image. You can browse or drag and drop an image into the dialogue box that pops up.
When you click this there is a handy box, as in the image above, on the right hand side and there is a box inside there for you to add a caption.
You can also edit captions for images anywhere in the gallery options in this pop-up, by clicking on any other image and then repeating the above, or you can select a group of images, click Create Gallery, and you will now have a page with images which you can edit directly, see image below:
