Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) was created to build faster-loading pages for all types of sites. Billions of AMP pages have been published to date. Google Analytics is supporting customers who have adopted AMP.

How people are engaging with businesses across Accelerated Mobile Pages?

  • Many customers reported many challenges in understanding full process. This is the reason why some changes will be implemented over the next few weeks.

 

Firstly, Customers looked for consistency across AMP and non-AMP pages served from domain.

  • Changes will have the effect of improving user analysis by unifying  users across the two page formats. They will be automatically rolled out so there is no reason to do anything.
  • AMP and non-AMP users visit will be unify and easy to monitor.
  • It can effects user and session counts, including changes to related metrics at the beginning.
  • Also, User and session counts will go down over time as Google formerly distinct IDs.
  • However, at the time this change commences, the metric New Users may rise temporarily as IDs are reset.

Also, time on site, page views per session, and bounce rate will rise. AMP and non-AMP page views will be no longer treated as multiple sessions.

This change should make easy for AMP pages served on customers domain. Let’s hope it will be improvement for better. The AMP Project is an open-source initiative aiming to make the web better for all.
