7 Social Media Tips For Success

With social media entering into another year, we expect increasing numbers of members and more interaction.

It is important to realise that an increasing number of fans and followers etc., although good signs, are not necessarily signs of social media success. Here are some tips to help you to make your social media marketing more successful.

1. Check incoming web traffic

It makes good sense if your client is on several networks to make a note of the traffic coming in from all sources and decide which ones are creating the most visits to the client’s website and how much time they spend on the site etc.

2. Good quality social media posts

Interesting posts that attract users comments and start up discussions are good indicators that your campaign is successful. Keep writing posts that will interest your fans.

3. Keep a track of your followers and fans

If you notice that fans come and go at a fast rate then consider why this may be happening. You should aim to grow the network at a strategic pace.

4. Track fan feedback and evaluate interaction with fans

It is a good idea to notice the percentage of fans that engage on your page. You may need to change certain posts in order to make people interested. Make use of feedback you may receive and tweak your efforts depending on what response you receive. Make sure any negative comments are resolved quickly.

5. Going viral

 

An obvious measure of success is how quickly a post gets shared. Be aware that once you post videos or articles etc.they are out in the social-sphere for good.

6. Consider if your client uses social media

Clients need to use social media themselves in order to understand it. Whether it be Facebook, Twitter etc. it is helpful when your client understands the concept.

7. Remember to write blogs

 

It is important to keep track of blog comments and votes. Make sure you respond to comments as they come in. Blogs are invaluable as information sources for visitors to websites and make for good quality social media posts.

Measuring success in social media will depend on the goals you set with your client. Set realistic expectations over a certain period of time to help you track your campaign as it goes and hopefully help you to meet your client’s expectations.
