3 LinkedIn Tips For Getting Noticed

LinkedIn is very important when it comes to making online business connections and promoting a CV.

The professional social network is also a great place for promoting content, your business, and most importantly yourself.

It is important to remember however, that with over 150 million registered users, getting noticed can sometimes be a little bit difficult. Most users realise that simply filling out a profile is not enough. Being part of an online community means engaging regularly in order to make an impact. Knowing what to do after this though is not always easy.

To try to make things a bit simpler, here are three of the tips that LinkedIn has released for making sure you get noticed:

1. Sharing Is Caring

The social network reckons that people who share articles or content with their LinkedIn network at least once a week are almost ten times more likely to be contacted by a recruiter, than people who don’t. Do not go overboard though, as quality counts for a lot more than quantity. Remember that every status update you share on LinkedIn is a reflection of who you are as a professional.

2. Create A Schedule
LinkedIn suggests using its mobile and iPad apps if you are finding it difficult fitting in time to spend on it. The apps are especially useful if you commute to work using public transport.

3. Dress It Up
People with photos are seven times more likely to have their profiles viewed, according to the social network itself.

Looking professional does not only make you visible, but also lets employers know that you are serious about representing their company in a professional way. A bare and basic profile and presence suggest that you do not care or you are not very proficient at online networking.

LinkedIn also says that you are twelve times more likely to have your profile viewed if you add more than one position to your profile. The breadth of your experience is important, as well as the length.
